Founded in 2003, Adams Morgan Main Street is a volunteer-based organization, supported by an Executive Director as its only staff. Its Board of Directors and committee members are a dedicated group of volunteers with various skills and interests, sharing a common desire to help make Adams Morgan an even better place. |

WHO WE ARE Adams Morgan Main Street Group is a non-profit, volunteer driven organization that focuses on promoting Adams Morgan, and create a more vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood in the Washington metropolitan area that is beneficial to both our residents and business owners alike. Our Main Street four-point approach of design, organization, promotions and economic diversification has been presented our completed and ongoing projects. PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS A few of our accomplishments are as follows: Completion of a Bike Rack Study which resulted in the installation of 35 new bike racks, adopting and landscaping pocket parks, located near 7-11, tree planting of 32 new trees on the 18th street and Columbia Road, planting Cherry trees in area parks and schools, bi-monthly Adams Morgan Main Street Newsletter which promotes local businesses and non-profit events, reorganizing and improving the annual Adams Morgan Day festival, and hosting business mixers. WHAT CAN I DO? Anything you want! Your support and ideas are needed for our Design, Financial Economic Diversification, and Organization Committees. We have volunteer projects that last one hour or are year around. There are countless ways in which you can help. Most will be involved with will most likely be a subcommittee of our four standing committees. |

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Office/Administrative: Maintain files, answering phones, updating volunteer database, calling volunteers, correspondence, etc. Fundraising: Seeking alternative funding methods-writing proposals, obtaining grants and creating new fundraising activities. Event Planning: Organize and plan an event. Committee/Oversight: Direct, lead prospective members. Promotions: Write profile articles on new business, the neighborhood, and or Main Street activity, write copy for marketing materials. Economic Diversifications: Conduct surveys on neighborhood development, talk to businesses, earn about their concerns and needs. Recruitment: Recruit and train new volunteers; provide orientation and help place talents where interests lie.

Bow Wow Pow Wow Enjoy a day of fun and festivities for you and your dog, meet new friends, and soak up the Adams Morgan experience. Sunday, April 25th , 11 am – 6 pm Adams Morgan Day An East Coast tradition filled with flocks of festivals goers. It’s a fun filled day of local acts, arts and crafts, and food from several cultures.
